ok here's how the scene goes. it's a kiss forum call in show on public access tv.

caller1: i just wanted to say kiss rocks! whoo!
host: allright, kiss does rock. good call, good call.
caller2: i just wanted to say kiss sucks!
host: is this dennis deyoung? lead singer of styxx?
caller2: yeah
host: dennis you douche. how about we crank up detroit rock city and sail away and see which one rocks more you high voiced bastard!

Styx has some very good songs (though arguably Offspring did a better version of Come Sail Away, depends on your mood I suppose).

However the Doors would be in contention for greatest American rock band ever if Jim Morrison hadn't died at an early age. Even with what little time they had, they put together a collection of great songs, that while not particularly my first taste in music, are both orignal, and appreciateable for their quality. They were kings of rock when rock was at its height, and that says a lot about how good they were.
