Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers broke onto the national music scene with their 1976 self-titled debut album. Still, it took America a full year to catch up to the album. "Breakdown" was re-released to radio and became a Top 40 hit in 1977 after word filtered back the band was creating a firestorm in England. The Heartbreakers have produced 8 #1 hits including “I Won’t Back Down”, “Running Down a Dream”, and “You Don’t Know How it Feels”.
Heart is a hugely successful female-fronted hard rock band which began in the 1970s. The group is most recognizable as being fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. The band, whose earlier sound fused elements of folk-rock and power ballads, was heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin. In the mid 1980s, Heart shifted to a power pop sound that would bring the band its greatest success yet. Heart broke in to the pop scene with a self-titled album in 1985 that would be their biggest, including four Top Ten singles, "What About Love?," "Never," "These Dreams," and "Nothin' at All." Other popular songs include: "Crazy on You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda," "What About Love?" and "Alone."
