The hands and 'wind' were drawn with crayon, but the rest he painted.
a burgeoning little artist, you have on your hands, ORS.
yoda speak for that's quite the little artist you have there.
Thank you moon, we're pretty damn proud of our little man. He's got a ton of 'undiscovered' work that's pretty impressive too.
that's cool, man. some kids can just do it and love it. my buddy and i growing up always drew and painted, but his stuff was always so much better than mine. so i got discouraged and quit. he has continued, and now supplements his income by selling his artwork. he knows he can't make a living off of it, at least for quite some time...but anyway, the point is, a little encouragement is all someone needs. and if he's winning contests, then that burden is far from falling on your shoulders.

Well it's far from a burden to encourage my son, but I see what you're saying. Artistic ability runs in my family. Our family's homes are decorated pretty thoroughly with artwork done by great-great relatives and more recent pieces. I had it, but like you, gave it up. I won some contests when I was young too, but found other things to do when I got older.
My mother, I'm told, was possibly the best artist of all of our family. She painted a picture for a TV news station to display in the little window next to the report. If I get a chance, I'll post it here. It will blow your mind. I'll give a warning before though. It'll probably be pretty big.
whoa! dude, when i first opened the thread i thought i had clicked on the how big is earth thread. that pic is HUGE! but awesome. there is some wild stuff in there. and excellent attention to detail.

Abstract art can be done by anyone. I think it's a bunch of bull but I guess if anyone will buy it.
I'm going into design but that's a lot more structured. I'll probably decorate my house with things I've done but
I don't think I'll ever buy any artwork...
and ORS, you could probably shrink that a bit
