Atlanta DT getting no respect

Postby Mookie4ever » Mon Jun 19, 2006 10:35 am

Am I crazy to think that the Falcons' DT is getting no respect?

They disappointed last year but had key injuries to Brady Smith and Ed Hartwell and they upgraded a lot this year.

John Abraham was brought in and now they have Abraham, Patrick Kerney and Rod Coleman on the line. That's a pretty good pass rush.

Hartwell is now healthy, meaning that Keith Brooking doesn't have to play out of position in the middle and giving the Falcons a couple of very good linebackers.

Hall is still in the secondary and they added LAwyer Milloy, a little old but still an upgrade. And their first pcik Jimmy Williams give them some depth.

With all of this talent they are ranked #13 by the footballguys and they aren't even being drafted in the Cafe mocks.

For what it's worth, FantasyGuru.com has them ranked 6th (behind Chi, Ind, Pit, Car, and Cin).

SSSShhhhhhh!!!! ;-)

I've been selecting them in most of my 10 team mock drafts so far. Everyone passes on them and I just take them with my second last pick, it's a beautiful thing.

I think Atlanta is about as close to a lock for a top5 defense as there is this year. I've been picking them up in all my early leagues as a 2nd to last round defense.

I don't think they're disrespected at all. Hell, last season they were drafted top 5 in my league. This season, with John Abraham, I wouldn't be suprised if they creeped into the top three.

I've ranked them between middle of the road and garbage.

Leaning more towards garbage.
