Consistency Ratings (a must read!)

Postby bagobonez » Mon Jun 19, 2006 10:09 pm

I have done some number crunching, and have come up with players' fantasy points scored on a game-by-game basis to show you how consistent each player is. That way if you like a guy who's consistent week to week, as opposed to a guy that scores 30 points one week and 5 points the next, this will help you out. It's also helpful if you believe how a player finishes teh season is an indicator of things to come for THIS season.

Not every player is listed, but most of the major players that can be expected to be drafted in the first several rounds are listed. Some players are not listed because they were injured for a significant portion of the year. PLayers are sorted by team. If a player has switched teams, you will find his name with his new team, but his numbers are based off last year's stats with his old team. An "X" instead of a number means the player didn't play that week. Numbers are based on teh following rules...

20 pass yards = 1 point
10 rush/rec yards = 1 point
Pass TD = 4 points
Rush/Rec TD = 6 points
Interception = -2 points
(didn't factor in fumbles lost)

If this thread is popular enough, maybe the mods can sticky it?

Good stuff bagobonez! ;-D Thanks for the analysis. :-)

Although things can change from year to year, I do like to see which guys can normally put up a decent amount of points each game. It helps me to pick guys in the middle of the draft that have the propensity to get you consistent results. :-)

I added him. I don't know how he got left off. I knew in an article this big, there'd be some mistakes.

IF there's one thing I've learned, it's that the midget WR's with speed are very inconsistent. Steve SMith, Joey Galloway, Santana Moss, etc. Their year end stats look good, but week to week they're inconsistent.
