I gotta go RHCP here. Floyd is one of the most dynamic bands of all time, they can change sound so well, and definitely put together a great career, but RHCP are one of the best bands of their time, with very likely the best lead guitarist and bassist of their generation. I would not be surprised at all by the time RHCP are winding down their career, they will be a giant like Stones, Zeppelin, The Who, etc.

Frusciante is one of the greatest guitarists ever and Navarro was great too. I went RHCP.

Granted, the Peppers haven't had decades to refine themselves and prove longevity, but Mad said it best when he noted that Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands of ALL TIME, while RHCP is one of the best (I would have said "better") bands of THEIR TIME.

While the Peppers were at their height, Floyd was not only still relevant, but still making great music.

That's why I went with Pink Floyd, and will continue to do so round after round.
