The Official Germany or Florida Theme Song: Things are sick and twisted From too much sun and Nazis Sex, meth, and death fetishes Both of them have got these Guaranteed not to bore ya German-yyy or Florida Other GoF Themes
And now, on to our show...
SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD - A 440-pound man discovered that being overweight can be good for your health -- if you get run over by a car.
Police said the extra body mass prevented the 30-year-old man from suffering potentially fatal injuries when a passing car drove over him after he braked suddenly on his bicycle at a crossroads and fell off in front of the car.
"It certainly helped him in this case," said a spokesman for police on Monday. "Someone smaller would probably not have been so lucky."
The man dislocated his hip, which local doctors put back in place, but otherwise suffered only scratches and a bloody nose from the underside of the vehicle, police said.
A couple of comments about this story - first off, how does a 440 pound man find a bicycle that will carry him?
And, if he's that big (and the assumption would be "that round," how would a car roll over him? Are we to believe he was actuall UNDER the car? That seems just about impossible unless the guy was 6'8" or something and his mass was distributed kind of evenly.
I know at LEAST two people will get this one correct - it was sent to me by a couple of unnamed fans of GoF.
If you run across a good story, send me a PM!

1) After visiting Germany, one thing you will realize is that everyone rides/owns a bike. It is an extremely popular means of local transportation.
2) You'll also know that the cars are smaller in Europe due to smaller streets, lack of parking (cities are hundreds of years old), and fuel economy (our gas prices have only recently begun to come close... they've been paying $4-5 per gallon for years... mainly due to taxes). This guy suffered slight injuries, I'm betting it was from a small car. The standard Euro cars are an equivalent of a Mini Cooper to us in the states.
3) Red lights in German mean YIELD (at least that's what they told me)... that, coupled with more bike traffic = more likelyhood of this accident occurring in Germany.
4) Yes Americans are overweight... but Germans have the famous Bratwurst and Beer diet.
GERMANY Chuck!
PS - In the US, large people do not pedal bicycles... they drive choppers.
