The cornerback is Gary Baxter of the Browns.

However, Baxter had been placed in IR earlier in the season with a torn pectoral muscle, and did not play in the game - Johnson was instead double covered by combinations of Daylon McCutcheon and Leigh Bodden and the Browns' safeties.

Thus, it seems to be a paradox that the first person checked off as covering Johnson in 2005 didn't even play in the game.

I spent about 20 minutes working out the best way to phrase that.

Really the only issue would be if people had trouble conceptualizing the word paradox.

And the right way to go about answering the question is to first figure out who the person who got the check marks was, then investigate that particular game for him, realizing that he didn't play. Nobody has even gotten the first part yet, so it's sort of irrelevant whether or not the second part was difficult to understand, at least for now.
