Buttercup: And to think, all that time it was your cup that was poisoned. Man in Black: They were both poisoned. I spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocane powder.
I bought the super-groovy anniversary edition of that and watched it last weekend. That's just a classic movie.
did you get the new Buttercup Edition?
No, I got some other edition. I would have to look at the cover to tell you what it was.

that should be the dread pirate roberts edition as there were only the two to my recolection. which also reminds me i need to go get that tomorow.
I don't know which of these two editions this is - I saw the "Buttercup Edition" in my image search and that's not this, but there's nothing on this one that says anything about "The Dread Pirate Roberts" Edition.
i think the special editions are the ones that aren't unrated or don't have outtakes crammed in. totally bogus. i don't think you can purchase an american pie or wedding crashers or anything that was released recently that isn't "uncorked" or "special". stupid marketing geniuses.

Yeah, I really hate that trend. If they add 30 seconds of footage of a tree waving in the wind, that makes it different from the version that the censors rated, and then they market it as "THE UNRATED VERSION" as if it's some big deal.

But what if you can see the tree's nipples? Then it makes sense to cut it for the PG rating, and I would buy the unrated version, because I love tree-nipples

200 DVDs... so what are you goint to do when movies are now released in HD DVD / Blu-ray? It wont be as bad as VHS to DVD, but you'll sure notice a difference of HD vs non-HD.
Eventually, it's all going to be downloadable movies to a harddrive. Comcast probably is best positioned to take advantage of the future... Blockbuster will be a thing of the past. Netflix is only a short-term business model.
Right now, I only buy the essential movies - like LOTR... ones that I wouldn't mind buying again.

shoot myself...seriously though, 90% of the movie i own a little crisper picture isnt really going to matter, but yeah, i will probably re-buy a few of the essential movies (LOTR, Star Wars)when i make the move to HD/Blu-Ray
i agree i can see the downloadable angle becoming the wave of the future
