I'm waiting until something REALLY good comes out technology-wise. Then I'll invest some $$$ in movies.
Well, film is typically 4000x3000 pixels, as a source...
HD will only be 1920x1080
So, there will be a long wait for TV catch all that film has to offer.
for the record i own probably close to about 400 dvd's and i say screw hd/blu ray myself. i've put out enough money i'll stick with what works just fine.

what's the difference between the DP and the BC editions? Should I eBay my current one and get one of the new ones?

a few of the same things but more stuff on the new ones. i find with special editions, for me atleast, it's just about having the newest version. most of the time i never even watch the extras. if there is a new version released my ocd kicks in and i have to have it. same thing with widescreen.it's pretty much widescreen or i don't buy it unless i really like the movie. most people could care less.

yeah, i here ya. the worst is when it's a directors cut with extra footage or a re-release with DTS (i love me some DTS). i've purposely held off on buying Kill Bill on DVD becasue there's some uber-edition in the works...possibly
