Addai?

Addai was a first round pick, and generally RB's do not go in the first round, and sit on the bench unless they are injured or have some sort of other weird thing happen to them. Addai was an excellent back in college with a ton of potential. With Rhodes, you pretty much know what you are getting, however with Addai, although its taking a chance, the sky is the limit. He could be lik Caddilac, and that line in Indy will certainly give him the chance. Also, Peyton Manning will help him with all the PA fakes that they run.

Because he's better than Dominic Rhodes perhaps?

Colts defenders were surprised to see that Addai was bigger than expected, and even more surprised to see he was faster than expected.

Teams do not draft running backs in the first round with the intention of sitting on the bench. More than any other position, running backs drafted in Round 1 have as good a chance to contribute right away as any other position."

What do you expect them to say? "He sucks. We wasted our first round pick."?

That's just the thing, they don't waste their first round picks. You can easily make an arguement that Indy is better with their 1st round picks than any franchise out there. You have to go back more than a dozen years to find a 1st round bust, all the superstars on their team are guys they drafted, and more than 90% of the guys they've drafted in the first round the last dozen years are starting on their team.

Couple that with the fact that the league has pretty much shown its colors in thinking that Rhodes is not talented enough to be a starting NFL RB (which we can all see ourselves just by watching him play), and you've got a very easy choice here.

Honestly, I couldn't distinguish Edge from Rhodes in goalline situations the past few years. Rhodes wasn't in there enough to compare the rest of the package though.

The biggest set back for Addai is that he never had more than 187 carries in a season. No one knows if he can be a full-time back. He comes polished (compared to other RBs) but he wasn't projected in the first round, and IND needed to grab him so that they had someone else.

I think IND has a RBBC all year long, and hopefully Addai picks up the offense for next year...

No, if they weren't impressed I would have expected they wouldn't have made any comment at all - what's so tough to figure out about that???

I'm staying away from this situation.

I'd much rather have Maroney 3-4 rounds later ;-)

All reasons to bank on the Indy passing game harking back to the days of 2004. The Addai/Rhodes situation is one to stay away from, to me, people like Reggie Wayne, Stokley and of course Manning, will vastly improve on last years numbers because of how messy the running game will be. Rhodes/addai, either way the Colts just lost a bunch of rushing TDs.
