I just can't see miami giving him another shot. I would think that at this point the dolphins could not take him back, and after ronnie brown puts up 1500 yards and 12 TDs this year, I don't think they really will need him.

I think he owes too much money to not come back.
At what point do the Dolphins just give up? I think they pushed it this past season because Williams, presumably, could still be an asset. And he was. But ANOTHER year, ANOTHER failed test, they KNOW that he doesn't have any money...likewise, pretty sure his trade value is dead...I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Miami just decides to move on, put this behind them.
He will return as a Phin. If he is able to become eligable next season they will welcome him back. It's the nature of the beast: If you have the skills, you have a job.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

He's coming back to Miami, Nick Saban has a good Coach/Player relationship with Ricky and usually stands by him when Ricky gets critisized or the media dips in.
He will welcome Ricky back into the mix with open arms in 2007, dont expect much of a fantasy value from him though unless Brown goes down with an injury.
Saban liked using them as a RBBC and wouldnt mind to throw Ricky back into the mix in 07 for a change of pace and so Brown doesnt burn out, also having them both in the backfield with C-pep at QB is pretty lethal.
Yeah, I think he will be back in the NFL for sure. If not with the dolphins, then with someone. As long as he is able to play, he will have a team to play on.
The only thing that keeps him out of the NFL next year and beyond is another failed drug test
Why wouldn't Miami want him? When Ronnie Brown was getting injured towards the end of the season, Ricky Williams was a BIG part of why they went on a 6-game winning streak..Ricky scored 5 times in that 6 game streak, and the average margin of victory was less than 6 points.
Having a guy like Ricky on your roster, along with his dirtcheap salary, is a dream scenario for a smart coach. Sure he is one more strike away from being out of the NFL altogether, and he may or may not flake again at some point in the future, but to have him on your roster with virtually nothing invested in him is the perfect scenario. Every team in the NFL could use a Ricky Williams on the bench waiting to come into the game.
