1.1 Rosters must stay within the roster limits at all times
during the regular season. Rosters may exceed the
roster limits during the off season (after the super bowl to the start of the next season).

1.2 The team roster must have at least 25 players
under contract by the start of the season and a max of 30, An owner may also have a 5 man practice squad.

1.3 The league roster may include any combination
of players

1.4 Players that are injured or suspended
must be removed from the active lineup.

1.5 An active roster must stay within the roster limits, OFFENSE- 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE,1 K, 3 FLEX PLAYERS ( A FLEX PLAYER MAY BE A RB, WR, TE.) MAY NOT PLAY MORE THEN 3 RB OR TE.

1.6 Once cbs offers different positions then listed the EDFFL may add those positions to our teams.

1.7 illegal rosters will result in "0" points for that
particular day.

1.8 The EDFFL does not support an IR


2.1 The first year draft will consist of 35 rounds, 8 rounds in years after. The 4th round will be a suppelment draft.

2.2 The time limit is 2 hours, but if it looks like we will not finish by the start of the season the time limit per pick will be reduced.

2.3 The draft will start on August 13th at noon in the first year, the 3rd Sunday in August in years after.

2.4 The draft order will be set by a draft randomizer from The results will be emailed to the league email address. Once the league is established the draft ramdomizer will run.

2.5 The draft will be snake format 1-12 for odd rounds 12-1 in even rounds in the first year, the draft will be a straight draft in years after, 1-12 in every round.


3.1 Free agents will be available for bid once all contracts have been assigned.

3.2 Free agents will be added using the blind bidding process (FAAB) used by CBS on Tue- Sat. Each team shall start with 100 Faab dollars. All bids must be in whole dollars. Transactions through the commish will be available on Sundays only.

3.3 All free agents not drafted will receive a 1 year contract, all other will receive the contract assigned to them.

3.4 When a player is added the owner must make necessary adjustments to accommodate the player.


4.1 All players not on a roster at start of free agency will be available to be bid on for free agency.

4.2 Free agency auction will begin 4/15 of
each year and will last to 6/15.

4.3 Each team will nominate 1 player to the free
agent auction at a time.

4.4 Rookies may not me eligible in this auction.

4.5 Players are purchased using contract years, nomination of a player constitutes of minimum of 1 contract year.

4.6 Owners must email their first nominated player
by placing him on the message board to the
league beginning 4/15. Nominated players to the commissioner will not be accepted. Nomination of a player is first come, first serve basis.

4.7 Owners may bid on any of the players that have
been nominated, all bids must be put on the
message boards to the league.

4.8 Once there is a "NO BID" on a particular player
after 48 hours, the bidding on that player will stop
And the highest bidder will be awarded that player.

4.9 Once an owners player has been signed, that
owner may nominate his next player.

4.10 Owners may not nominate new players after 6/15.

4.11 There is no limit on how many players one team
may sign.

4.12 The successful team is responsible for making vacant
contract and salary cap space available to sign his player.


5.1 A restricted free agent is a player that finished the season on a EDFFL roster.

5.2 A team owner may offer 2 contracts to his own RFA's as he wishes, Once an owner offers one of his own players a contract it may not be removed.

5.3 A team owner may offer a contract of any amount of years.

5.4 A team owner must offer their own RFA player a contract from 4/1- 4/10.

5.5 Any player not offered a contract will become unrestricted.

5.6 A team may start to offer restricted players a contract on 4/15, RFA will last until 5/15, Owners must email their bids by placing him on the message board to the league. Nominated players to the commissioner will not be accepted.

5.7 Other team owners may bid on other teams restricted free agents. Bids must be 1 more year then what the owner offered the player.

5.8 Once there is a "NO BID" on a particular player
after 48 hours, the bidding on that player will stop
and the original owner will have 2 days to match the final bid.

5.9 Owners have until 5/15 to place a bid on new restricted free agents.

5.10 Teams that lose restricted free agents may receive a supplement pick.


6.1 Each team may franchise 1 player a year.

6.2 A franchised player must receive an 1 year contract.

6.3 A team must franchise his player from 4/1 - 4/10.

6.4 Owners have until 5/01 to bid on a franchise player.

6.5 A team owner may remove the franchise tag at any point but may not be put on another player.

6.6 If a franchise player that is traded loses his tag


7.1 There is no transaction fee or no limit on the
number of transactions.

7.2 FAAB does not run on Sundays, Transactions may be emailed to the commissioner.

7.3 It is the owners responsibility that their team does
not exceed the contract limits.

7.4 Trades including future draft picks must have a
third of their league fees paid for those years.

7.5 Contract years may not be traded.

7.6 The trade deadline is before week 12 begins.

7.7 Teams out of the playoffs may not make add/ drops after week 13.

7.8 Trades will be allowed during the off season, the
off season starts after the Super bowl to the start
of next season. Trades during the off season
will be subject to a 7 day voting period.

7.9 If trades are rejected, they are not looked at by
the commissioner, they will stand as rejected.

7.10 If a player involved in a trade gets hurt during the objection period an owner has the right to veto the trade by a written email to the league.

7.11 After the completion of the Super Bowl any owner that does not have their dues paid in full will not be allowed to trade


8.1 The schedule will consist of 14 games over 13 weeks, 2 games will be played during week 10. This week shall change from year to year based on bye weeks.

8.2 Each team shall play their division 2 times each and all other teams once.

8.3 There will be 3 divisions of 4 teams in each division.

8.4 8 teams shall make the playoffs, 3 division winners and 5 wildcard teams.

8.5 The playoffs shall start in week 14 and last until week 16.

8.6 The 3 Divisions will be know as the Vince Lambardi, Paul Brown and George Halas.

8.7 Once the teams get ranked, they will keep that rank until they get eliminated from the playoffs


9.1 The four teams that lose in the first round of the playoffs will compete in the "Maybe Next Year Tournament" MNYT beginning in week 15.

9.2 The Winners from the first round will play for the MNYT championship in week 16.

9.3 The 4 teams that did not make the playoffs will go and play for the "Toilet Bowl" beginning in week 14

9.4 The teams will be re-ranked using the playoff setup as listed in section 13 based on the final regular season standings.

9.5 The playoff seeding will not effect the outcome of play for the Toilet bowl and MNYT.

9.6 The winner of the Toilet Bowl will receive the first supplement pick.



The eight post season participants from each conference will now be seeded as follows:
1. The division champion with the best record.
2. The division champion with the second-best record.
3. The division champion with the third best record
4. The Wild Card club with the best record.
5. The Wild Card club with the second-best record.
6. The Wild Card club with the third best record
7. The Wild Card club with the fourth best record
8. The Wild Card club with the fifth best record.

The following procedures will be used to break standings ties for post season playoffs and to determine regular-season schedules.
NOTE: Tie games count as one-half win and one-half loss for both clubs.

If, at the end of the regular season, two or more clubs in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is determined.

Two Clubs
1. Winning percentage
2. Head 2 head record
3. Division record
4. Strength of schedule
5. Total points
7. Best net touchdowns in all games.
8. coin flip

Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of the two-club format).

3. Division record
4. Strength of schedule.
5. Total points
6. Best net touchdowns in all games.
7. Record vs league

If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.
1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

Two Clubs
1. Winning percentage
2. Head-to-head, if applicable.
3. Wins in common games (Teams that all teams played the same amount of times, mininum of 4)
4. Strength of schedule.
5. Total points
6. Best net touchdowns in all games.
7. Coin toss.

Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
1. Winning percentage
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Wins in common games, minimum of four. (All games vs opponent must be equal)
4. Strength of schedule.
5. Total Points
6. Best net touchdowns in all games.
7. Record vs league
8. Coin toss

10.4 When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. In situations where three or more teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.

1. Only one club advances to the playoffs in any tie-breaking step. Remaining tied clubs revert to the first step of the applicable division or Wild-Card tie breakers. As an example, if two clubs remain tied in any tie-breaker step after all other clubs have been eliminated, the procedure reverts to step one of the two-club format to determine the winner. When one club wins the tie breaker, all other clubs revert to step 1 of the applicable two-club or three-club format.

1. Net touchdowns
2. Defence points
3. Offence points
4. Offence points minus opponents defence points
5. Total yards (passing, rushing, recieving)
6. Sacks + INT
7. Field goals
8. Home team (better reagular season record)


11.1 Once a team owner signs a player, the player will hold his contract for the rest of the season.

11.2 Players with 1 or 2 contract years may be released.

11.3 Players contracts will be adjusted by 1 every year, after the Super bowl is over.

11.4 All players must be under contract 5 days after the draft. Any team that does not have his players under contract by the deadline the commissioner will give every player on that owners team a 1 year contract.

11.5 Practice squad players do not require a contract.

11.6 Each team is awarded 90 contract years.

11.7 Each team may offer a franchise tag to 1 player which is automatically 1 year. Each team may offer 2 players a contract of any amount of years to a restricted free agent.

11.8 An owner may sign any player that was drafted to any amount of contract years as long as he meets the contract requirements.

11.9 An owner may go over their contract years during the free agent auction and/or the draft as long as the owner meets the contract requirements by the start of the season.


12.1 A hold out will occur when a player is ranked on the top 5 in fantasy points at his position in his last year of his contract.

12.2 The team owner may offer this player a 4 year contarct, release this player or trade him.

12.3 If an owner chooses to trade the player, the receiving team must sign the player to a 4 year contract, If the player is released the player will become a free agent


13.1 A practice squad may have a maximum of 5 players and a minimum of 0 players.

13.2 A practice squad player does not need a contract.

13.3 A player must be put on the practice squad as a rookie, but may stay on the practice squad until promoted.

13.4 Once a player is promoted to the major team he may not go back down without clearing waivers. (the owner must release this player then bid on him through the bid process).

13.5 Once a player is promoted during the season he is required to be signed to a 1 year contract. If the player is promoted during the off-season the player may be signed to ant amount of years.

13.6 If an owner trades for a practice squad player when they already have 5 on their roster, the owner must offer one of them a contract of 1 year.

13.7 An owner from a different team may offer player on any practice squad a contract at any time after the season starts and before week 13 begins.
The bid must be put in email form to the whole league,
Once a bid is made the original owner has 48 hours to match the bid.
Afterwards this player must be put onto a major team roster.

13.8 Injured players may go down to the practice squad without clearing waivers.

13.9 The IR will be used as the practice squad, only players with listed as PS (practice squad), and that are injured will be allowed to be placed as injured. A red cross next to the players name displays injury.

13.10 Players with contracts that are injured in the practice squad may not be bidded on.

13.11 When a practice squad player is called up to its major league team it must be announced to the league by placing it on the message board.

13.12 A rookie added through free agency may be placed on the practice squad. The commissioner must be notified to chance the players status.


14.1 The supplement draft will be 1 round of extra draft picks for the Toilet Bowl winner and lost RFA'S.

14.2 The supplement draft will be in round 4

14.3 The Toilet Bowl winner will receive the first pick in the supplement draft.

14.4 Picks will be handed out to lost RFA'S that were given the highest amount of contract years. The higher the contract, the better pick.

16.1 The by laws cant be modified during the season

16.2 If owners want to make suggestions to rule changes, they may do so during the off season but before action picks back up. If the commissioner thinks that they are acceptable he shall put if up to vote to the rest of the league.

16.3 The league needs an approval of 75% to change a rule. Non active players will be taken into account.

16.4 Upon paying league dues an owner purchases a franchise in the EDFFL.

16.5 There is no limit on the number of years an owner may own a team as long league dues are paid on time and stays active.

16.6 An inactive owner may be replaced during the off season. The commissioner will give a notice to this owner by email.

16.7 An owner may give his team back to the EDFFL at the end of the season.

16.8 An owner may sell his franchise to another interested party for a reasonable price and approval of the EDFFL.

16.9 New owners must accept the league rules and must pay league dues besides the dues paid to the original owner.

16.10 Trash talk is welcome, but keep it trash talk, no written attacks on other owners in the league.

16.11 The EDFFL is designed to be fair and competitive, owners are expected to compete even if their out of the playoff hunt.

16.12 The commissioner has the right to make rule changes from year to year when necessary to keep play fair and fun.


17.1 League dues must be received before an invite will be sent.

17.2 The website fee is 130 dollars

17.3 The commissioners fee is 90 dollars; 10% of each owners league dues.

17.4 There are no additional league fees.

17.5 League Payout:


17.6 There is no payout for the toilet bowl.

17.7 There is a 50 dollar award for a perfect season (17-0)

17.8 Any returning owners dues will have the next years league dues deducted before being sent out.


18.1 If the NFL expands teams so will the EDFFL.

18.2 The EDFFL shall not have more then half of the teams in the NFL of any week unless vote permits it.

18.3 The expansion teams will conduct a 10 round draft from all free agents, includes teams RFA and franchise players. This draft will take place before free agency.

18.4 The expansion teams will get 3 extra draft picks during the player draft after rounds 2,4,6, the expansion teams draft order will be reversed from the first draft.

18.5 There will be another 5 round draft after the player draft.

18.6 Expansion teams shall only pay half the league dues in the first year.

18.7 Other expansion rules will be set at the time of expansion.
