Anyone ever use AOL FF?

Postby shabadoo25 » Wed Jul 19, 2006 2:45 pm

I'm trying to use a more obscure online site that my office hasn't blocked yet, like they have yahoo, cbs, etc.

Anyone ever try AOL's? They claim all the services are free...

defininitely a good choice, except there is no live draft service it seems. You can only set up your own league.
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks!

Personally, I thought it was absolutely horrible. The pages would take forever to load if they even loaded properly at all. Plus the user interface for horrible and annoying to navigate. I'd stay far away from AOL if you can

AOL horror stories, or AOL FF horror stories?

I don't find the pages hard to navigate at all...

My league tried is last year and we hated it. The live scoring is really slow and often freezes up. Also it took literally 3-4 minutes just to load the FA page. It was really horrible, I would not suggest it.

The pages load very slow...but AOL really has some neat features. This includes more complex scoring (such as bonuses for long TD's) and live scoring...both things that you have to pay for on sites such as http://www.myfantasyleague.com. There are also some neat analysis features for free such as power rankings and quality of win in your league.

if you can get by the slow loading pages... AOL is really quite good, very different from Yahoo

every new fantasy website is hard to navigate at first, you get used to it

though I must say...as one guy also pointed out...the only time i really hate the slow loading pages is for the free agent list, it's horrible

My league used it last year and we voted to use it again this year. I haven't noticed it being any slower than any of the other sites. The live scoring froze up occassionally, but so do Yahoo and the other services. Overall, I thought they offered some good freatures, had no more problems than the other sites, and is free.
