Bears RBs and their ADP

I would like to start a discussion on the ADP of Bear's RBs. If your draft was held today (according to Antsports ADP) Cedric Benson would be the 57th player chosen and Thomas Jones the 59th player chosen. In a 12 team draft this would put thim in 5th round.

Obviously not knowing who is the starter will keep their ADPs low or will it. When training camp opens and the preseason will one RB make a huge jump in the rankings. The Bears have put up good RB numbers and I would expect if Benson wins the job outright that he would be drafted before the likes Willie Parker, mabye even Jamal Lewis and Chester Taylor or am I way off base here.

I am currently planning my draft and may be able to get Benson where he is ranked right now, but wont one of them make a huge jump once a starter as been established or will they remain around their relative ADP spots?

I defintly see Benson getting the job, and in their offense hes a fantasy gem. Top 15 material.

Yes, if one player wins the job outright they will see a considerable jump in ADP as the season draws closer. There's really nothing you can do about it right now other than take them where their current ADP is and hope you get the right guy or avoid the situation altogether. If you pick correctly, then you'll probably be handsomely rewarded. If you miss, then you've probably wasted a pick unless an injury occurs. There's a lot of risk involved in fantasy football, and this would be one of them.

Now on the other hand, if they become a RBBC, they might not even be worth the 5th round pick you need to use on them now!

Wherever their ADP is, it's too high. People are hoping for Benson to win this thing, he's shown me nothing so I'm not so sure. TJ can play, you know where to draft him if he's the man. Cedric is nothing more than a guess and a fumble away from being TJ's backup again.

Personally I like Jones better. I do feel that Benson will take over, but not until the later part of the season.

If you can somehow afford to snag them both, then you're probably set - based on last year, it does not appear that Chicago likes the RBBC approach, and one of these guys will get the nod.

If you need to make a choice prior to a #1 being named, it's a tough call, but I did read that Benson was #1 on the depth charts after Jones did not show for a mini-camp earlier (Jones wants his contract reworked). Benson reportedly looked VERY good, and sometimes things as small as this can help sway the choice.....
