Now that I'm actually reading a book I can post here. I'm reading Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison.

Very good book. I also had Ender's Shadow at one time, which focuses more on Bean, but I never got around to it.

personally, i hate period piece movies, so i also hate most period books - the dialogue just kills it for me
anything by vonnegut is worth reading - slaughterhouse 5, breakfast of champions, cat's cradle, etc.
