In the middle of, "Plot Against America" by Tim Roth. Been gripping so far. Just finished last week, "A Scavenger's Guide to Haute Cuisine" which was pretty fun. Definitely reccommended to anyone who is the outdoorsy, hunting type. It's sort of like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance lite. Except instead of driving across the country on his motorcycle, he's traveling across the country trapping and hunting game for ingredients in a feast.

Have you read any of the Dune prequels written by Herbert's son and Anderson?
Nope. My interest in the series really fizzled around the God Emperor of Dune times. I suppose I should read Heretics and Chapterhouse, but I haven't and I'm not sure I will unless I hear some really glowing things about them sometime soon. Any chance you could convince me, or did it really lose steam after God Emperor?

It turned weird but was still worth reading because it was still in the fascinating universe that Herbert had created. But once I started the series, I couldn't finish it. Read all six books in under a week.
