Good stuff.
I've read that book twice...
1st time - the whole church was reading it together 2nd time - small group reading
Found it a dull read. The overall concepts are great, but it can be summarized in about 2 pages.
Are you in a study group?
Right now I'm reading "Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul" - it's been out for a long time... just never got around to it.
Great book, tells us we don't have to be that cookie cutter "nice guy" Christian man (which we have all tried to do, and have doubtlessly all been miserable being - I just can't be Ned Flanders). Don't compromise on beliefs, but it's ok to be a MAN: be strong and masculine.
I do agree A LOT with the importance of the Father's role in our development.
Okalie-dokalie, I'll have to look that one up Twistedereeno.
I'm still reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. If you haven't read this book, it's a must-read classic.
Yes, I've read Mere Christianity... it's a great book for appealing to our logical nature. Definately one of those books I recommend to new Christians or people interested in Christianity.
A lot of people also like the book "A Case for Faith."
I just finished about 10 Vince Flynn books. All are about this CIA superagent Mitch Rapp. I was going to nominate him for the KBB but I didn't think he would be well-known enough. Either way the books are all really good.

Hehe, I just picked up one of Flynn's books from the library today, Act of Treason. If literary characters were allowed in the KBB, there are so many that could have been perfect.
Anyways, I've got the perfect books for a lot of the Cafe crowd here. Authored by Mike Lupica, the two are called Bump and Run and the sequel Red Zone. Both are about modern professional football, but features a fictional team. Basically depicts the antics of self-involved superstar athletes, strippers, backstabbing owners, strippers, and other craziness that happens in professional sports. And strippers, I can't forget to mention strippers. Lupica's other books are great too, with a couple about baseball and a couple about basketball. All take place in the same fictional universe, so characters from one book may make cameo appearances or mentions in another. Hilarious stuff.

I felt the same way. THe middle drags on and on, but it starts getting pretty good towards the end. Definitely not the kind of book I was expecting to read, I guess I was expecting a suspense thriller kind of book, and instead it's almost more like a detailed summary of the investigation.
