I think this thread deserves a bump. :-)

Just started 1984. Hopefully I will like it more than Brave New World. :-P

1984 is awesome, plus it's short so you can finish it in a day or two. I pull it off the shelf every few years and reread it.

As for myself, a bit of self help in learning a new programming language with Scala in Action. </nerd>

Just got Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv. Right up my alley so it should be a good read. Haven't read a book cover to cover in a while. :,-(

Finishing up Clash of Kings and then will be onto the Dresden Files Ghost Story. It's just sitting there taunting me.

Ranting Again by Dennis Miller

Really like his brand of humor - just purchased a set of his complete HBO specials on dvd and decided to grab a couple of his books as well. Short chapters - perfect bathroom book, lol!

After watching the TV series I am now RE-reading the Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin before I read the newest title in the series since he waited 5 frickin' years to finish it. :-[

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

If you like 80's pop culture, video games (with an emphasis on old school systems and games) ,Sci FI,Post Apocalyptic settings,Matrix like Virtual World etc this is the book for you. It really is fantastic and written by the guy who wrote the movie Fanboys.

Is this series done now? I hate starting a series and having to wait months/years to finish it. I prefer to read the whole thing through at once, so if it's done I may pick them up. I hear really good things about them.

I finished World War Z a month or so ago, and just started reading Game of Thrones. Coincidentally, I'm only reading it on the throne as it's become my bathroom testimonial book. :-B

As someone who has had the misfortune to be reading at least two series' whose authors died before finishing them (Wheel of Time anyone?) I can certainly see your side of things on that one knapp.

Unfortunately, the series is not yet complete. The 5th book was recently released but as I understand it there is at least 1 if not 2 more planned. That being said, they are quite good.
