You know you're in trouble when...

I did an office league VERY similar to this last year with people that had little/no clue. I thought I had the league in the bag by just doing my normal VBD and getting players ridiculously later than they should have gone in a competitive league. I actually laughed at some of the picks being made and told them they "made it too easy for me."

Want to know what happened? I missed the playoffs. irked.gif

I was outscored by the top scoring team three times when I had the second highest score in the league. In fact, I think I was like 2-5 after seven weeks and only managed to pull close by winning all my remaining games but one.

I've been involved in other leagues with friends with similar results to yours and haven't won in three years...I get second or third every year though. veryhappy.gif

What I'm saying is don't underestimate a league with "bad drafting." You've still got to win the games. As long as they are taking solid players early, if some of their later picks pan out and they get a few WW gems, they can be just as competitive as the VBD guys. Maybe I had an extreme example, but this is why my fantasy strategy and mindset has changed over the past year. scared.gif

Anyway, your question...only bail if you don't want to play. I'd say the chances of you winning this league might be as good as playing in any other league. Just worry about your team and let the chips fall where they may. thumbs.gif

Weird...same thing happened to me. I guess that's the "luck factor" in FF along with the unpredictability of TDs.

I had a studly team on paper. I ended up starting 0-6 but still managed to make the playoffs (cuz our playoff system was pretty lenient).

yeah, I was in a league last year, at the end of the year, I had the second highest point total in the league, but was in 8th place out of 12.

I just happened to play every team on the one week out of the year, when their players just went off

This is amazing... In my first draft this year, Brady dropped to me at #4 too!

Whenever I'm in a league like that, I avoid RB early. You know that Jamal Lewis is probably gonna fall to the 10th round, so you might as well draft guys like Terrell Owens/Randy Moss/Antonio Gates in the 1st/2nd/3rd. I remember a few years back, my dumbass co-workers laughed when I took Tiki Barber as my #6 RB in the last round "because you don't get points for fumbles". Idiots.

This is an interesting idea, because while VBD still exists for the players it's the dynamic nature of a draft that really affects VBD. I bet someone could write a program to calculate that effectively and it would probably be pretty effective.

I 'm sorry but I personally wouldn't have any interest in playing in that league, I can't stand playing against clueless player, or newbies. I live for heavy competition.
