12 TEAM draft strategy help? WHIR

Postby sixer03fan » Thu Jul 27, 2006 10:15 am

i have a 12 team head to head non-keeper draft next week. i'm starting to make up my cheat sheets and sleeper lists and all, but i was hoping some of you could help me out with a general draft strategy. i want to try to go by a strict guide this year. like what positions i should be going for in each round? here's the roster positions:

1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 team DEF

leave a link with your post and i'll be happy to respond.

for example, i was thinking maybe try something like this?

1. RB
2. RB
3. WR
4. WR
5. QB and so on, but can someone help me out with this? thanks in advance!

I'd say it depends on your draft position.....

For example, if you were drafting early, you may want to go RB, WR, WR or RB, RB, WR, WR to start off. Of course depending on who's available determines this. I think you want to draft for value, don't just draft a TE at a certain spot b/c that's what you said you'd pick in the 8th rd.

I don't think you can go into a draft and say, "I'm picking a QB in the 5th rd". What if the top 11 guys are off the board for whatever reason by then. You obviously don't need to draft a QB then....you can wait....

Why? :-?

You should always be flexible in your draft. The best is to use a VBD or ADP, although you can change it up, but I would not recommend going in with a strict guide and following it
