SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Former University of Washington quarterback Cody Pickett didn't make it in San Francisco.
Today, the 49ers traded Pickett to the Houston Texans for a conditional draft pick.
Pickett started two games for the 49ers last season, completing a franchise-low one pass in a loss to Chicago. The former rodeo cowboy from Caldwell, Idaho, and Huskies star gained his greatest notoriety from a brief stint as a special-teams player covering kickoffs and punts.
Pickett was at Washington from 1999 through 2003, playing for coaches Rick Neuheisel and Keith Gilbertson. He's the Huskies' all-time career passing leader with 10,220 yards, almost 4,000 yards ahead of number two passer Brock Huard, with 6,391.
He also holds the Huskies' all-time single-game passing mark of 455 yards and the school's single-season passing record of 4,458 yards.
