This was the actual roster of one of the teams in my league - Standard scoring(except 6 pts/ pass TD). Start Qb/3WR/2RB/TE/K/Def
QB Marc Bulger, STL
QB Matt Hasselbeck, SEA
QB Ben Roethlisberger, PIT
RB Shaun Alexander, SEA
RB Rudi Johnson, CIN
RB Larry Johnson, KC
WR Isaac Bruce, STL
WR Chad Johnson, CIN
WR Santana Moss, WAS
WR Steve Smith, CAR
TE Heath Miller, PIT
PK Jeff Reed, PIT
Def Bears, Team Defense, CHI
Def Bengals, Team Defense, CIN

Now for the REAL kicker - He DIDNT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!! We are still scratching our heads.
-Unfortuanately for us, its a keep league where he can keep up to 4.
The key to a winning season is focusing on one opponent at a time. Winning one week at a time. Never look back and never look ahead.

Not making the playoffs with that team is impossible without using an empty roster

Hmmmm not sure how you don't make the playoffs with that squad. So who does he keep? SA, LJ , CJ & Smith, no sense keeping rudi on the pine unless the league has a flex.

Keeping those guys would make him a shoe in for the playoffs. How did he not make the playoffs with two top5 WRs and the #1 and #2 Fantasy RBs? WOW. Thats all that needs to be said.

You guys who are asking how a team like this doesn't make the playoffs aren't looking at the bigger picture. Yeah, on paper his team rocks but sometimes when you have three studs in each of the skill positions it makes you do stupid things and sometimes you pick incorrectly.

Keep in mind:

Hasselbeck, while having a solid year, only threw for over 250 yards 3 times last year. Roethlisberger only did it twice. Marc Bulger was injured during the week 6 game which was after one of Roeth's 250+ games and two of Hasselbeck's 250+ games.

First week you start Shaun Alexander and Rudi (since LJ isn't the starter). SA gives you 73 yards and no TDs, Rudi gives you 126/1. LJ, on your bench gives you 110/2 so next week you start LJ and Rudi. LJ, gives you 41/1 and Rudi gives you 90/0 while SA gives you 144/1 on your bench...

You start Issac Bruce and Chad Johnson first week but miss Steve Smith's 138/1. The next week you keep Issac Bruce in (hoping to double-dip on the Marc Bulger TD throws as he got one the first week) and switch to Smith who has a terrible game 34/0 and miss Moss' 159/2.

Yeah, it's convoluted but it could totally happen. Hell, everyone has done that a couple times every season. I'm sure somewhere someone made bad decisions nearly the whole season through...

did he have that team right off the bat? Possibly yes, but if he traded for it, I could see how he missed it. I am not looking up the bye weeks, but he could have had up to three weeks where he didn't get to go full strength with his backs.

Also, like the other poster said, if you picked wrong and took a fluky loss early playing the matchups, then took a loss or two when you had bye weeks, I could see how he could miss the playoffs.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.
