What are the odds that Joey Harrington beats C-pepp ?

The very first game of the NFL is on Thursday, Sep. 7: Pittsburgh 8:30 p.m.

Assuming that C-pepp is still out by then, what will happen if Joey Harrington actually has a good game (300 yds, 2 tds)? Is there any chance at all that Joey outplays C-pepp for the no. 1 qb spot?

Seriously, if C-pepp played like he did last year, it wouldn't be too hard for Joey to beat him out for the spot.

I still think Joey got screwed in Detroit and didn't really have much of a chance to succeed (e.g., rest of his teammates turning their backs on him, coaching problems, and of course Matt Millen )

First, you have to calculate the odds of Joey having a good game in his first regular season game with a new team. Those are pretty bad.

Considering they are pretty bad and Daunte is looking really good, I'd say Joey's prospects are awful.

If that happens then I would be in complete shock . If that did happend then game 2, Coach will say take a hike Joey since Culpep would be probably back.

First, I think C Pep will be back. Second, I don't think it's possible for Joey to have a 300 yd, 2 TD game. He is totally afraid to throw the ball in a real game.

Culpepper - Moss = Much worse.
Harrington - Detroit = Much better.

Hard to say how either respond in the Miami system, but I think it's fair to say that Joey is in a much better situation than he was a year ago. I watched him all through college and would love to see him succeed. It will be interesting to watch, and your suggestion that he has a great game or two and wins the starting spot is something that has crossed my mind as well.

That was classic. Harrington cant beat out a Culpepper playing at 75% strength.

YOu guys are all pretty high on C-Pep. I've only ever been screwed by drafting him, though. He's had as many mediocre years as good ones.
