What's up with C-Mart this year? Will he be ok?

Someone in my league just dropped him and I scooped him up with my waiver priority (I had the 10th priority, which tells you how interested the league was in him).

Am I missing something? Isn't this the guy who led the league in rushing last season? Obviously I know he's old and very injury prone, and will need a bit of luck on his side to be even a mid-range producing RB...but is his value so low to the point where he's WW fodder in a 12 team league?

He's injured now and will continue to remain injured during the year. With the pathetic offense that is the New York Jets, I wouldn't count on him doing much.

Although the jets made some moves to help the offense (D'Brick Wall) it just isnt enough. He isnt WW fodder just yet.

I saw that rumor too, but from everything I've read it's just that, a rumor.

Personally, I think he'll play, and he's just on the PUP list to spare him some training camp wear-and-tear. Just my opinion though.

Still, as a 10th priority WW grab, how can you go wrong?

I don't see him doing much more than he did last year. His QB can't throw deep, even if he could the receivers aren't great, and the o-line is undergoing a lot of changes (including Mawae being cut). Not a good situation for an RB with the mileage C-Mart has. He has a ton of heart, but he's on the last few grains of sand in his hourglass.

That being said, he's worth a taking a flyer on off the waiver wire as you did. Maybe he has a few good games early and you can deal him before he goes south.
