IDP auction stragery

I need a little advice for my $$ league.
Long time player who has had a brain child in his head for 2 years and finally wants to bring it to live.

The line up - qb, 2wr, rb, 2 w/r, w/t, te, k, 3 D, 3 DL, 2 DB w/ 8 BN.
I won't get into the scoring but you can click on my sig and scroll down to it and see for yourself. Lets say that you top tier LBs equaled you 3rd tier wrs. So Offensive is more importan, but not by much.

We get an $500 cap per team, w/ LJ going around $140 or more, how much would a top teir LB go; and would it be smart to spend up to 40% of my cap on IDPs? I got the feeling that they will be way undervalued this 1st yr and it will be easy to grab some of the top guys.

Personally I would not spend 40% on IDP. There are so many IDP available that I think you could get away with 25-30% and still be competitive. Generally Off outscores Def in FF formats. You do want to spend on a couple IDP player, generally LBs, you just have to take a look at what the going rate is

You are allowed to keep 1 person from every position, however what ever you spend this year will increase by 10% next. So I also want to target some younger, break out players.

For intances; CJ and Vilma scored about 230 pts last yr, thats oh much the IDPs impact. But Vilma is a special case.

Offensive stats
50 yds passin = 1 pt, .2 pt a comp
-2 int, -1 sack
20 yds ru/rec = 1pt, .2 ru att; 1 ppr

IDP Stats
1.5 solo, .5 assiast, 3 sack, 4 int, 1 pd, 3 safety
all tds = 6 pts
