If I'm right, an example of what you get when you use stocks and C4Ds correctly is SPC's sig's bg .

Not exactly, but a good example is some of DiG's old stuff (he isn't at the cafe):

DiG's always got good stuff. Anyway, to get back on topic, you can do more than just using brushes to make your background. Using stocks and C4Ds will get you nice backgrounds, even using your main pic for your sig can get you a nice background. I've seen it done.

You can copy and paste them, then do w/e you want with them, lower the opacity, desaturate them, blend them, etc. Experiment, to find what looks good.

Not bad, but I would put more lighting on Shaun and change the text. BG and pic effect look solid.

i like that SA sig. Except fot the text. so with a simpler, cleaner text. and change the color of the text.
