Does Cedric Houston have genital Herpes?

Postby Daddymike59 » Sat Aug 12, 2006 1:46 pm

Why are the Jets avoiding giving this guy the number 1 job? They did the same thing with Lamont. Now they are showing interest in Ladell Betts?

Gibbs and saunders love Betts, so I don't see them releasing him or trading. Betts could be s starter on any team.

LaMont never got the starting job because of a certain guy who had a million 1000-yard seasons in a row. Martin rushed for a career high in yards the last year before LaMont left the Jets.

And if Martin is healthy for the start of the season -- which looks like a really big "if," he will remain the starter.

According to Rotowire:
"...the Jets continue to explore the running backs market. In addition to Thomas Jones and Chris Brown, Marcel Shipp and Michael Turner have been added to the list."

They think Martin could be done for good, and they know better than me. Irregardless, I can say with 99.99% certainty that LaDell (is that how you spell his first name?) Betts will never be the Jets starting running back.

I understand the fact that Martin was in his prime when Lamont was there but Martin's knee is now "Bone on Bone" , no ligament so to say that he is done, too me, is a far gone conclusion. Now why isn't Houston next in line to tote the rock? Does he lack speed, power, vision what? I'd just like some insight here. :-b

Nothing in that LaDell Betts report indicated they were necessarily interested in him as a starter. That said, I think Blaylock has as good of a chance to get the job as Houston. And some people say that neither guy is considered an "every down back." Houston may be type-cast as a short-yasrdage guy, based on last year. But I think he could very well win the job. I just think the Jets are freaked out with the prospect of C-Mart being done (rightly so), and they're aware that it's impossible to have too much depth at any offensive skill position.

one other option that someone on NFL Live said could be an option is TJ Duckett. he is a running back that a team is actually looking to trade, and it wouldnt be a bad idea for New York to give Atlanta a call.
