Richardson a Goal Line Back?

Postby vykeengfan » Mon Aug 14, 2006 7:38 pm

I don't ever remember him in that duty before. If that's the case this season, it could spell trouble for Taylor...

it sure would but i dont think richardson has ever had that role. hes a great lead blocker which would actually help chester do better at the goalline, no?

It was one carry in the first preseason game. Until I see some sort of pattern this means little to nothing.

Thank you! Can we say too much preseason hype?

I wouldn't worry about the Richardson TD. Taylor was on the field when it happened and they were in a 2 back split set. It was a FB draw. Don't worry about it.

its preseason and i dont think that will turn him into becoming a goal line back because he is to valuable as a blocker. it was a 3yrd td, the only carry he got all game so i dont see much more than a td here and there. most of the time he will make way for taylor

I wouldn't be surprised to see Richardson getting more goalline carries, after all he is a FB and FBs sometimes are used in short yardage situations. I wouldn't look to much into this though, but if you see the Vikings doing the same thing in another preseason game then you have all the reason to worry. Time will tell.
