Thoughts on Vernon Davis

What do you all think his production will be like this year? Where is he going in your drafts?

Went in 8th round of ten team dynasty I am in. IMO he is gifted, but needs to prove that he is more than a developing Pro Bowler. IMO 800yds 4-6TDs.

mixed feelings... there was a post on here saying whoever the other TE is on that team was getting more attention... but he's still supposed to break out this year. I got him in the 15-20 round of draft. winslow will be in there as well. there's just so many good TE's this year

I hope he does well, he's currently my only TE. I think his success is 100% dependent on Alex Smith. If Smith bodes well, Davis will have a great season. He's quick, physical and played multiple positions during his college years, so he could be a multi-threat player.

Too much hype for me. I would take a LATE round draft pick on him, no more. I just don't see him panning out...

Alex Smith isn't going to throw enough TD's for Vernon to command a lot.

Davis will be lucky to get 400 yards.

I'll say 400-450 yards and 3-5 TD's.

Alex Smith is throwing. The team is terrible. He is a rookie.

Their "other" TE is Eric Johnson, who was a Pro Bowler before he missed last season with foot problems.

They will apparently play a lot of 2 TE sets and Johnson will get lots of looks too since the SF WR corps is suspect.

Johnson may steal a lot of passes that would otherwise go to Davis on a different team.
