Farve News Conference at Noon Today

Postby Eagle Baseball » Wed Aug 16, 2006 9:59 am

cbssportsline is reporting that Brett Farve has called a news conference for noon today. They are reporting that the conference will concern his future plans. They do not give a clue as to what will be announced. They speculate that it will be one of three thing.

1. announce retirement
2. announce retirement effective at the end of this season
3. announce a contract extension.

4) Announce that he's back on the sauce so you should consider drafting him #1 for QBs again.
5) Announce that he drafted Chris Cooley in his slow draft so he doesn't have to individually call all his league mates.

In typical brett favre fashion, i wouldnt be surprised if this press conference was called for him to say that he hasnt decided what he is going to do after this season.

If it's this one, Cooley fell a long way in that draft, or they aren't going to finish the draft in time for the season. :-b

It had better be something significant. I love the guy, but I'm starting to lose respect for him over the past season or two. Everything's about him...

I just called a buddy from GB and he said that, and this is very unsubstantiated but also not denied, Farve is going to announce his retirement.

I have to believe that he means after the year is done, but after seeing the first exhibition game I wouldn't be to stunned if he see that this team is in for a long season and he may not want any part of it.

He may also see that he has lost it, but he'd have to look through his ego. Not likely.

I predicted this. I figured he may decide to retire before the season started once he realized how crappy his offense and protection were going to be.

Someone I know just gave me this link: read and digest as you see fit...

I think it'd be hilarious if he quit on the team...that would really send the morale of the Packers sky high... ;-7
