Draft order: Random or Reverse order of last year's finish??

I'm looking for some help.
I am the commish of an 8-team yahoo league. All the same people from last year are back.

I'm wondering, what is the standard for draft order? We've always done random previously.
But, I was thinking, what about doing it in reverse order of how everyone finished last year??? That way, the guy that won it all last year would draft last in the first round, and first in the second round.

I'm a little hesitant to do that, because some folks prefer drafting in the later part of the first round since it is a snake draft. I'm thinking I may as well do random again.

Anyway, I'm eager to get advice/thoughts from folks other than the people in my league.

There is another option - my league has had a priority draft the last couple of years. In this draft, you pick what pick you want. The order for the priority draft could be reverse finish, so people who wanted to pick late in the first could select it.

Let me get it straight...

The person that came in last gets to pick what their pick will be...so they can pick last in the first round if they want.

And then, the guy who won last year basically has to take whatever pick is left after everyone else picks?

That sounds interesting.

if it's a keeper/dynasty i like reverse order.

if it's redraft i like random

...but the you pick your pick is kind of neat

Oh - I should have said - ours is a redraft league.

Personally, I think doing it random is the best. That way there can't be any controversies, and no one can be upset.

In our redraft, we gave the worst finishers the first opportunities to "reach into the hat" and pick their draft order. Our 2 newbies went last.

Even with this approach, our playoff guys from last year got the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 12th picks.

One of the newbies drew the 4th pick.
