Madden 2007 Review

Postby gatorman1122 » Sat Aug 19, 2006 8:37 am

Just got my copy of Madden 2007 (ps2).

Here's a quick review:

New features:

kicking system is slightly altered. Hold Right Thumbstick down to charge meter then flick it up to desired strength.

Blocking feature: you can now take control of blockers and block for your runningback. This is a nice new feature but it makes running WAY too easy. I was averaging 7+ yds on the ground with Rhodes as my RB and Mungro running for me :-o .

Graphics seem to be improved a bit.

Computer AI seems to be lacking. Maybe it's because I was playing against Mike Vick. ;-7 . The comp almost always bites on play action plays and leaves your WR wide open near the endzone. Halftime score Colts 56, Falcons 0 . :-b :-b

Anyway, that's a quick rundown after playing 1 quick game.

This should go in the Video Games forum.

So running is real easy huh? What difficulty were you playing on?

Did they get rid of the passing cone this year?

Sorry, didn't know there was a video games forum. Where have I been?

I didn't change the difficulty. I guess it was on default difficulty.

The passing cone is optional this year. You can turn it on voluntarily by focusing on a receiver before the snap. You should see Mike Vick's passing cone. :-D

Most of the features you described we knew were in the game, but it's nice to see the running thing was easy. I'm sure when you move it up to All-Pro or All-Madden it will become tougher. Oh yeah, how did you get it already?! 8-o :~( I'm so desperate for this game right now. Do you work at some video game store or something?

Default difficulty is always ridiculously easy. I wouldnt take too much from that. Is Madden's default still pro. I think on NCAA this year they made the default All American, but it oesnt seem any harder.

When you say that you can control the blockers, is it just the offensive line? or can you control a fullback or tight end as well?

You control the full back (probab TE when necessary) and try to open up a hole for the RB.

No offense dude, but it is people like you that help in ruining these games and holding back the real development of them. The guys over at EA are so busy coming up with new ideas to satisfy the people that can't appreciate a sim game for what it is and will piss and moan about no new features that they end up spending all their time in that regard rather than refining the gameplay.

Based on your comment you aren't planning on buying the game, so why are you even in this thread?

Sorry if I came off aggressive, but that nonsense just ticks me off.
