I know it's only preseason, but 2int's a fumble -12yds lost... :(

I have him on my bench because I have Palmer as a starter and I'm not sure how that's gonna pan out, but this just sucks.. I was hoping the kid would continue to improve in the games..

Smith will be fine. I wouldn't want him as my #2 fantasy QB this year. He will be a lot better than last year. I think it takes 3 years to really judge an NFL QB.

I think you will see an improvement with Smith

He will be inconsistant though as he learns

He will have a couple of games whetre you think "Wow, This kid is good"

and games where you say "Why did the Niners draft Him"

Its all a part of growing up in the NFL

I took a risk on him this year in a dynasty league. His first preseason game was great.

I think as he learns he will become much better. He was kinda thrown into a sucky situation last year, can't really expect anyone to do anything well with what he had to work with.

Now he's got Davis, he's got more experience.

What was all that weird talk last year about his hand being too small? Was there any truth to that?

I think Smith will develop into a decent QB. No Peyton Manning, but a solid QB. Hopefully he will begin to get better as the rest of the team does.

I love the guy, as a Niners fan, but it's very frustrating at times. I like the way the future is looking, though, even if it may be a relatively distant future.

I think anytime a young quarterback goes through a change like that it sets them back a bit. But I don't think Norv Turner was ever really in the Niners long term plans anyway.

I don't think it will hurt too much. Smith should really improve in his third year anyways. If the Niners do not add a decent WR, Smith may struggle next season.
