Portis - no more goaline carries?

Just a provocative thought... will this shoulder injury open the door for Betts to be a goaline scavenger... I'm leaning yes.

I think the coaching staff will be timid about putting CP in on goaline carries.

I think this knocks CP out of contention for the #4 RB spot (redraft).

Please weigh in.

I'm not doubting CP will be the starter... I just think this is where FF and Real Football diverge.

If I'm coach of the Skins... why risk a chronic shoulder injury on a star player, when I can just put in a capable RB to get the hard yard??

If you are worried about CP losing carries to another RB I wouldn't fear. I think Mike Sellers could steal some of those realllly short goal line situations. But look for Portis to run anything 2 yards or more. As long as he is healthy of course.

I knocked him out of the 4 spot after I saw him make that tackle and writhe on the field in pain.

I'm a little surprised so many have ignored the injury and been so insistent on keeping him ranked in the top 5.

He won't be 100% by the start of the season, and taking the beating a RB does is only going to make him a risk for re-injuring that shoulder. Plus there has been talk about limiting his workload to compensate for his condition.

If they do sign Duckett, I'll drop him some more.

Injuries happen often enough without taking a risk on a player that is already a question mark. I'm not averse to taking risks - and past injury history I tend to forgive somewhat - but current injury is another matter.

Boy I was thinkin' the same thing. I just picked up Betts in a redraft lg hoping that scenario plays out just as Twisted says.
