SJAX just became the #4 RB - What do YOU think? WHIR

Postby wickerkat » Wed Aug 23, 2006 8:44 am

Well, if I needed some extra ammunition to help me take SJAX as my first pick this year in the #4 and #5 slots, I just got it.

#5: Tiki - getting older, Jacobs vulture took 7 tds last year.

#6: Portis - injured, TJ Duckett will steal goalline carries.

I've been going back and forth between these three guys for my #4/5 picks, but think I'm going to take the chance on Steven. Some guy had Portis fall to him at 22, and I would surely take Portis anywhere in the 2nd round, but having him as my #1 was just making me nervous. Tiki has less obvious stuff going against him, just age and some possible TD losses that I just read about in the definitive RB thread here at FFC:

http://www.fantasyfootballcafe.com/foru ... c&&start=0

I see people have SJAX as low as 8th behind Edge, which I think is insane. The Jacobs things just turned me off Tiki. And TJ just cements my avoiding Portis. Edge I was avoiding anyways. SO, that brings me to SJAX - starter, no RBBC, no vultures.

Thoughts?
Peace,
Richard

I tend to agree with you, although after the first three I think it's pretty much a crap shoot and just taking a gamble.

I drafted last night and took SJax at #4. I think he's the best option there for a combo of yards and TDs.

That's awesome. Thanks Huge, it is great to get positive feedback from someone with your experience here. Makes me feel a lot better taking Steven at #4, 5, or if he falls further (I'm in four leagues).

Peace,
Richard

I'm all over him at 4. I was considering this even before Portis got hurt, but now it seals the deal.

Yeah I am really high on Sjax this year as well. He is going to put up some big numbers, he's due for a breakout season.

I just bought him in an auction last night. Got a decent deal -- $94 in a 12 Team, 25 man roster (ton of IDPs) with a $500 cap. PPR league too. I really like S Jax in a PPR league.

Im debating between Edge and Jax also...what scares me in these threads is when almost everyone agrees and likes the same player. Ever ask a group of guys who they like to win a football game? When they all say the same team it almost always loses, thats how vegas makes the $$$ the public is usually wrong. Man this 6th pick is making me nuts....

Usually everyone says Tiki for #4, though.
