you must be new to this game..Faulk is not coming back asap...hes out for 6 weeks at least, and will not be brought right back in to full time duty...It was Faulks job, but as you can see winning the MVP does not say its your job forever, nor does a big contract....don't believe me?....ask Warner, Couch (whos only starting because Holcomb broke his leg) Bledsoe...just to name few...Gordons's value will not be zero and don't be shocked if he keeps the job...this is a biz always remember that...

Sponge is right--not that this thread is a joke, but that Gordon is not that good. He's a good pickup for stats while Faulk is out. But there's no way he'll replace Faulk for the year. Have you seen him play? He's big but not extremely strong, fast, or evasive. His value is commensurate to the power or the Rams offense. With Faulk out don't expect the Rams to hand off the ball as much as they were the last two weeks.

again you must be new too...all the things you say he is not, is what the rams say he is...why do you think they sent Canidate packing for and kept him?..I think you need to do your research before you post...

Why did they send Canidate packing? Because he played like he had just basted his hands with Crisco every time he touched a ball. I've watched every Rams game so far this year so I know how Gordon plays. I think you need to calm down and explain why Gordon is the next Portis before complaining about me, because based on your points, I'm not convinced.

Wow. First of all, I never even get close to saying my opinion in this thread, I wanted to know the opinions of others, which is what this board is all about. And Faulk is coming back ASAP? I don't know what you consider "as soon as possible" but 6 weeks is a pretty long time.

Lamar Gordon as good as PORTIS?!?!? Smoke crack much do ya?
Gordon is an avg. RB, say of a Trung Candidate level, but on the pass happy Rams with Mike "Dunce" Martz at the helm, Gordon wont carry more than 15 times at the most. Thats why this week I gotta start Bulger
As for Marshall Faulk, he is on his way out of the league. He will be traded at the end of this season unless he picks the Rams up and carries them singled handedly into the playoffs over the 2nd half of the season (never happen). I predict the Cardinals take him so he can battle Emmit smith in a RBBC of hall of famers.
The only thing we have to fear is.... another injured Denver RB!!!!!!!!
Don't take me wrong..I'm not saying hes the next Portis...but I am saying hes better then you think, and Rams think the same thing or they would kept Canidate...

I never asked if he was as good as Portis. What I meant was if he was going to have a Portis-like season. No one drafts him and he starts producing like a mad-man and all of a sudden, he's the most added guy in the league.

Behind the Rams o-line any decent back will be able to put up good stats if they get the ball and that's what Gordon is--decent. Canidate is in Washington because the Rams had a *little* problem with turnovers last year and Canidate is a fumble-prone back. You're mistaken to conclude that the Rams thought Gordon was an all-around better runner than Canidate. And even if they did think that Gordon was better than Canidate it wouldn't be such high praise considering how weak Canidate has been in Washington so far this year.

It's kinda funny a guy is trying to start a discussion on Lamar Gordon have a Portis like season and this how it is. Again think back to 2 years ago when Rhodes took over for Edge or when Mack replaced Taylor. A back up can have a great season in any oppertunity that is give so geting to the comment I think YES gordon can have a portis like season and if Portis injury continues and he remains a the wimo hat he is then Gordon might surpass him if Faulk is out.
