If Branch does actually leave Watson is going to be the focal point of that passing game. I'd consider taking him over guys like Miller an dMcMichael at least at this point.

I had Watson slightly ahead of Miller, but if that's any kind of indication where Brady will look to throw in a Branch-less world the gap may have just widened.

That said I think Branch will stay a Pat, but still....Watson's a solid TE you can get a little later in your draft.

I got Watson in the 12th RD in our 8 man league and in the 8th RD in my 14 man. I would put Miller ahead of him because Brady spreads it around so much and I think Ben will target Miller more this year.

Brady has always loved going to TEs in the red zone. Fauria and Graham were always decent bye week fill in guys for that reason alone.

Watson is an amazing athlete, me being a patriots fan i was so happy when they drafted him because he has such a combination of speed and strength, i think this year he will have a very good season, and last night's preseason game i think was a good example of what could come out of him this year.

I was at that preseason game last night :-)

Watson

A couple of weeks ago, I wasn't high on Watson for this year, but with Branch seeking a change of scenery and Ben playing the way he is, I admit he's looking like a strong option. You may be getting an extra starting WR for the price of a TE. He's obviously no secret anymore, and will likely be off the board shortly after the must-draft guys like Gates, Shockey, Heap, and Crumpler. With Rivers throwing to Gates, I think there's a lot of opportunity for other TEs to grab the #1 spot. Vernon Davis and Ben Watson will certainly be in the mix.

I have LJ Smith and Heath Miller in one of my leagues.

Should I drop LJ and pick up free agent Watson?

If/when Branch moves to another team, I'd make a move on Watson. Until then, you should be fine with what you have.

Hard time seeing Watson top5 this season.

#1- Brady spreads the ball

#2- NE is a run first and run second team within the 5 yardline
