Yes, here is what Sporting News reported yesterday:

Sporting News wrote:Byron Leftwich - QB Sept. 26, 2:21 p.m.

Leftwich most likely will make his first NFL start Sunday, with Mark Brunell downgraded to doubtful for the game against Houston. Brunell injured his elbow in the first quarter last weekend against Indianapolis and needed five stitches after the game. He has not practiced this week, and was listed as questionable when the team's first injury report came out Wednesday. The 6-foot-5 rookie from Marshall has taken most of the snaps in practice this week, with No. 3 QB David Garrard getting the rest.
Fantasy Spin: Drop what you're doing and pick up Leftwich right now if someone already hasn't done so. If he is starting, he has a good matchup against the Texans.

Not sure if I'd start him in his debut, but I've got him in my dynasty league so I hope he does well. :)

He is going to play, but I wouldn't start him unless your other option is Matt Hasselbeck (he has a bye) He shouldn't do too bad, but I wouldn't take the chance.

Hasselbeck is on bye for me this week, but I would strongly recommend Jeff Blake if he is available in your league. Yes, he plays for a bad team, but he has a great track record of good success on bad teams. Plus, he should be able to move the ball against the Ram's defense and will be throwing a lot trying to keep up with the new high-scoring Gordon-Bulger led Ram's offense.
