What are your favorite old school RPG's... for NES, SNES or PS1?

My favorites include Zelda 3, CHrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7 and 8. Right now I'm playing Xenogears which I hear is supposed to be good. Nothing like an old school RPG.

Suikoden II best RPG ever. FF 7 and 9 (I thought 8 sucked.) Chrono Cross was sweet. I liked Xenogears it was pretty sweet! ;-D

Mos. Def. check out Suikoden II if oyu can find it! ;-D
One is good too!
Keep it lit.

No one could figure out the junctioning in FF8. But once you figured it out it was pretty good.

I did play Suikoden 1... i think i may have rented Suikoden 2 and didn't like it as much if I remember right. The first one kicked ass though.

Chrono Trigger is my favorite of all time.. I thought Chrono Cross was a disappointment. Then there's Dragonwarrior. Probably my two favorite.

Dragon Warrior - NES
Might and Magic - Genesis (awesome customization)
Lunar - Genesis CD (just fun and addicting)

I do not consider zelda an RPG.

The FF series kinda blow because I don't know anybody who hasn't had to look up help (e.g. guides) to win. I haven't really gotten into them. A buddy of mine dropped out of college to play FF7 everyday... about 3 months later, his parents found out. He was hauled away back home.

crazy, games can really be addicting.

FF6 and Chrono Trigger were by far the best RPGs given their time. FF4 and Secret of Mana are still worth playing. Lunar and Lunar 2 seem very obscure being Sega CD games, but they were well ahead of their time, and nearly flawless. Personally, I liked FF8 best out of the Square Soft Playstation games. Suikoden was pretty good overall as a series (Suikoden 3 had one of the best storyline concepts I've ever seen).

Before all computer RPGs became MMORPGs they had some great ones. Baldur's Gate 2 was fantastic, very old school Bard's Tale rocked when I was in middle school.

Definately Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. Those two were classics. I liked Earthbound too, pretty cheesy but really amusing. Not much of an RPG though :-)

FF3
Chrono Trigger
Earthbound

Nothing else has come close yet. Xenogears was fun, extremely long however.
