What if you were allowed to start 3 RBs, with the caveat that 2 of the RBs must be from the same team?
This might be a way to address RBBC/goal line carries/game time decisions, etc issues. (Even though most of those issues add to the challenge of FF). This would also affect drafting, as it is a huge incentive to pick up your starter's backup.
Just brainstorming here...I'm not married to the idea myself. I know probably none of the online service providers do anything like this, so it is probably moot anyway.

NO

Part of what I find fun about FF is the draft strategy. In 12 team leagues not everyone is going to get 3 viable RBs (assuming 2 starting RBs plus a backup for bye weeks) and it's up to that owner to make a conscious decision to eat it one week in favor of picking up a premier WR (or maybe QB).
That's the beauty of the game.
I understand people get frustrated with the RBBC but there isn't a single 12 team league that I've seen where each team had the ability to pick up 2 starting (and non-RBBC) RBs. Most of the time they just decide to take WRs instead. That's their choice. Besides, doesn't that kind of ruin the ability to pick up someone else's handcuff too? They could just say that was their guy's 2nd and force the draft too much.
