Sorry for the stupid question, but what does "walk year" mean in the following:

KFFL Writes:
Sep 5 Ron Cook, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers S Troy Polamalu's current contract expires at the end of the 2007 season. The Steelers will begin negotiations with Polamalu after this season. They won't want him to get anywhere near his walk year. The team knows it will cost a lot of money to retain Polamalu.

Thanks
-K

Yeah, someone's "walk year" is the last season they're under contract.

Which could mean a good fantasy year as they are motivated to inflate their stats, thus demanding a lucrative contract next time round.
