How would one rate Braylon Edwards

Postby tearitup » Thu Sep 07, 2006 8:39 am

Is Braylon going to be a stud or a bust considering his team? I honestly think he is surrounded by some talent in Rueben, Winslow, JJer and Romeo. I think he will be a top 15 wr if he can get some solid play from Frye.

What do you guys think? He is my wr sleeeper for the season baring his knee injury relapsing.

I look for him to be a first-half dud and a second-half stud. His developmental curve is going to be slowed down by the fact that he has to deal w/ recovering from a knee injury...otherwise I'd say he had Larry Fitz type potential heading into this season. He's a similar player, big red-zone target who's not blazingly fast.

The things that limit him are QB/situation and the injury. I think he's good enough that working w/ Frye won't hurt him too much, but the injury is a concern.

Look for him to put up 600 rec./6 td in the second half of the season, I think. But his first half numbers might be so disappointing he doesn't reach 1000 overall.

I think he will have an erratic year. He is an gifted athlete but has shown some inconsistancy in college and a penchant for dropping easy passes. Add recovering from his injury and iffy QBing from the Frye could add up to many disappointing games.

I think he'll be worth a look. In 2007.

So not too high hopes for him this season. I was under the same feeling. I will be watching him this week though. Not to mention he plays in arguably the toughest division in football. Someone in my league wants to trade for him. I just wanted to see what others thought about him.

Spartan Killer.

October 30, 2004
Erased 17 point deficit in less than 7 minutes.
Braylon Edwards: 211 total yards / 3tds
Best game Ive ever attended.

A 48" vertical and his ability to come down with the long ball make him a great redzone target. However, assuming Reuben, KWjr, and JJer get their share, and the Browns offense only has so much to go around, I cant see him being that great of a fantasy player. Maybe 700/6

Give him a few games to get back into game-shape to before adding him as your 3rd WR if that is what many are considering.

Like the previous posters stated. I think he will be a much better WR after week 7 and on ;-D

Like the previous two posters said, I think we will get into rythm as the season progresses. His developpement also has to parallel to Charlie Frye's developpement.

The better Frye will get, the better Edwards will produce, and vice-versa.

one would wait.

If you want to take a chance, go ahead. It's not based on much yet.

He definitely has talent and size. The negative side is that Charlie Frye is not going to be a dynamo and I think the Browns will be mainly a running team.

It remains to be seen. He is not a huge risk. He should definitely achieve mediocre numbers and maybe achieve decent numbers. However I wouldn't expect much more than that this year.
