Vikings' quarterback Daunte Culpepper missed Sunday's game against the 49ers because of his back injury and may be forced to miss next week's game against the Falcons too. Culpepper, who suffered three fractured transverse process bones during their week three game against the Bears, said his back stiffened up on him prior to kickoff. "I knew that my body wasn't ready," he told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I knew I wasn't going to start a couple days ago. We just didn't tell [the media]." With the team undefeated and Gus Frerotte playing well, will the Vikes rest Culpepper next week prior to their week six bye? "We're really going to look at that," Tice said. "I'm not sure what we're going to do, but we're going to consider that."

Look for the Vikes to end the speculation early rather than waiting for the weekend. We'd be surprised if Daunte played next week. Frerotte did a great job filling in yesterday and giving Cu! lpepper one more game off would total one month of rest for the injury."
i.e. doesn't look good, but sounds like we should know soon....
