Nope. I think Booker had a 50 yard reception also, so I don't think Welker will see the field very much except on 3rd downs. He still looked pretty good out there; if I were Mularkey, I'd use him in some gadget plays and get him more involved. ;-D

As everyone else said, if you have a return yards league, he's a good guy to have on your team. :-)

Nope.


No but he was thrown at for something like 4 of Culpepper's last 5 passes...

I agree that Welker saw more WR action last night because Booker was injured.

But I'm also in a league that awards one point per twenty yards returning. In the 2005 season, Welker was in the top 25 point scorers for WRs mostly from the contribution of his kick return yardage.

Assuming he has an equally successful year in returning kicks, he will again be a valuable fantasy commodity; not to mention the possibility of seeing a marginal increase in looks as the 3rd WR.

If he does well all season you should call it the Boldin effect. Or even the Stokley effect...
