What's with all of the football/baseball references in the football cafe latley?

If he's healthy I still think he's one of the top kickers out there.

I hope it wasn't taken as mean spirited comment.

Just a little odd seeing the names Soriano, Derek Lee & now Lidge mentioned in a football site. No worries. ;-D

I was thinking the same thing. I know that Lidge is a pitcher but because baseball is so boring and way too darn long of a season I really have no clue as to how well he has/is pitching and so the analogy means almost nothing to me.

It means the stats don't look completely awful at first sight (30+ Saves) but he's blown tons of easy saves (aka 30-yard 4th quarter FGs) and lost his job temproarily to Dan Wheeler. Houston would be closer to the wildcard spot if it weren't for him, and may even have challenged the Cardinals.

Plus, at trade time Houston tried to rid themselves of him and there were no takers.

The point is, people need to start reading the fine print! ;-D

That being said, the baseball analogies need to stop. Look, baseball guys, you love baseball, I got it. But don't go defaming our favorite past time by comparing Babe Ruth to Joe Montana.

Actually... :-?
