Any tips for fighting off a cold? Secret remedies? Magic potions?
My wife is getting over a nasty cold that knocked her out for a couple days last weekend. I thought I had gotten by unscathed until last night when I started feeling like crap (that may have been caused by my last minute benching of Hines Ward though ). Anyway, I woke up in the night with the definite beginnings of a cold - headache, sore throat, congestion, etc. and right now I can barely keep my head off my desk.
I need to kick this thing by Sunday 11 AM so I am open to any and all suggestions...

If your throat is hurting, do the dreaded salt water gargle. Keep kleenex handy, and just tell yourself "I do not have to feel this way," over and over.

and lots of it. tablets, juice, or however else you can think to take it. Vit C strengthens your white blood so they can attack the badies. Good thing is Vit C is water soluable, so you can't OD on it.
Sometimes being sick on opening weekend is not a bad thing. Gives you a surefire excuse to watch all day long... Sucky if you have friends coming over or are watching the games somewhere else though.
