You can use stats to prove almost anything. They are anything but foolproof.

You cant tell me that ALL those guys on the best least are better shutdown CBs then Champ Baily or Ronde Barber. I dont care how many stats you throw at me.

Yards/pass attempt can be very misleading especially for certain CBs who totally shutdown their side of the field. They dont get many passes there way so if they do happen to give up one big play their average goes way up.

Exactly, I dont know about all those guys, but Hood is the Eagles nickel CB, and I gaurantee Lito Sheppard is a much better CB in every facet of the game.

I think it is a much better use of time to look at team defenses. You can look at individual corners all you want, but WR1 doesn't always face CB1. On top of that with a major increase in cover 2 defenses, teams don't even play man-to-man as much anymore, so yds./att. can't be super accurate.
