Now that Smith has been reinststed, will he have an impact on the team and will he post his usually reliable numbers ?

"my sources say 'maybe'"

hmpfff

i was expecting a better answer.

who knows.
no reports on whether he is in game shape or not, apparently he did work out while rehabbing.

he hasn't clicked with either QB yet this year, regardless of which one of the two jax qbs starts... best guess might be that it'll take a couple of weeks for him to get back to game-shape and (re)develop some sort of chemistry with (brunell) leftwich...

he is a former pro-bowler who has the potential to produce at pro-bowl level again.

know any good fortune tellers?

I think not this week, but the next week. I don't think he will be able to come back after being out for so long and be able to play as good as he can. I wouldn't start him this week unless you have to.

I'm just guessing like everyone else, but I'd expect him to be not quite as good as last year. Somewhere between 600-700 yards and 4-5 TDs (remember, they've already played 4 games....)

If Brunell plays, Smith should most definitely have solid reliable numbers.

If Leftwich plays, nobody knows, no one knows if he'll lock on Smith the same way.

BUT, one thing's for sure, even if Jimmy Smith has lost a step, he's still 1000% better than any of the losers they got at this position right now. JJ Stokes, Hatchette, and Troy Edwards all were released not for salary cap reasons, because they sucked.

Yes I think Smith would make a good pickup unless you are loaded with a good corp of WR's and then maybe you could trade him. He has a great history with Brunell and I think he would even be good with Lefty. He may take a week or 2 to get into the swing of things but we all know his history. Not flashy but yards aplenty. Great hands too.

LOL Yoda, that's kinda screwed up man....he served his time. I just keep getting mental images of that crack head on "playmakers" getting high at the half....anyway, looking at your receivers, I'd probably start Smith if you start 3 receivers (or probably even in flex). He's got the talent, and he's one of the very few guys in the league who hasn't been getting the crap knocked out of him for 4 weeks.
