What is your take on Garcia?

Postby sickpuppie » Mon Sep 29, 2003 6:37 pm

I have Vick as my b/u, he won't play till at least Oct. 13th.

I am looking to rent Brad Johnson, Bulger, or Ferrotte this week.

Garcia is playing Detroit this week , If he doesn't get his sh** together this week..... I don't know....

Is the little guy washed up or will he rebound and start playing like a real NFL QB that he should be ?
Silver Bullets
Q: Vick, Palmer
RB: Portis, Griffin, Westbrook, K. Jones, Moe
WR: Holt, K Rob, Roy Williams, Keyshawn, Caldwell
TE: Eric Johnson, Boo
K: Josh Brown, Edinger

Start 1 - 3 - 3 -1 - 1 - 1
Must keep 2-5-5-2-2-2

Garcia has a good matchup, but I don't think I would play him if I were you. He just has not been playing very well lately. I would try and pick up Gis Frerotte and play him against a very bad Falcon D. Gus looked very good vs the 9ers last week and should get the start vs Atl. this week. I have heard that they will bech C-Pep again so that he will be able to go into the bye with 2 week rest and then come back with 3 weeks off, so he can be 100%.

I dk...the man has played like crap...

If he can't get it going against Detroit, avoid him all season. If you pick up Bulger, keep in mind he has a bye this week. Johnson plays Indianapolis week 5 also...remember that little game where they made the Saints look like the fools they are? For now, I'd go with Garcia unless you believe Ferrotte will look good against the Falcons...he certainately did against the 49ers...wow coming full circle

Untill yesterday Garcia was the number 1 QB in NFL.com FF, but he stunk it up Sunday. As a Lion fan I know our secondary is hurting big time look for Garcia to have a big game this wk. with T.Owens etc. unless he is hurting watch the injury reports carefully this wk.

I don't think it is Garcia as much as it is the new Offense and his suitability with it. They mentioned it SUnday during the game. The new SF Offense is NOT a west coast Offense and will at least take time for Garcia to adjust to it.

WW has it dead on. Garcia is adjusting to the new offense. He looked stellar in week 1 vs. the Scares and in turn created lofty expectations among his owners. Last week he did much worse than his true value. Unfortunately, his line is a little weak, leaving him vulnerable to pummeling. In this offense where the deep ball is emphasized more than the pure West Coast offense, the QB needs a little more time to throw. Garcia is not getting it. Plus he has no viable TE with Johnson out. That is having more of an impact it seems than people thought.

'Rent' Bulger? If Bulger is available, pick his ass up. I'd start him over Garcia.

Playing Garcia this week isn't too bad of an idea. I expect the 49er staff will wake the f@#$ up after getting b!&@# slapped by Owens. After that, I'd ride Bulger.
